Man City vs Brentford | Final Score

Brentford had won the game against Manchester City in their last game before the World Cup. It had been decades since Brentford beat City away from home, but they started brilliantly, with two fantastic chances for Frank Onyeka and Ivan Toney in the opening 10 minutes.

The breakthrough came from a long free-kick, with Ben Mee giving it to Toney in the area, who headed the Bees in front. The visitors then sat back and looked to hold on to their lead before half time, but Man City exploded. Outside the Brentford penalty area, they dominated possession and gained momentum. Kevin De Bruyne then sent a corner in the direction of Phil Foden, who equalized for City seconds before halftime.

Due to an injury to Aymeric Laporte early in the second half, 10 minutes of added time was added at the end as City battled for a late win. Brentford, on the other hand, kept faith and pushed people onto the pitch during a quick counter-attack which saw Josh Dasilva send the ball to Toney, who coolly turned it into a historic victory.
